Make a Japanese handwriting worksheet from your own sentence

A worksheet is more useful when the words mean something to you. Start with a sentence from a lesson, a short diary entry, or a phrase you want to remember.

From a sentence to a sheet

1. Open the practice desk and enter a short Japanese sentence.
2. Check the automatic readings. Correct a reading if needed before opening the worksheet.
3. Choose Worksheet. A printable version opens, with a link back to your sentence.
4. Choose whether to keep repeated characters or practice each character once.
5. Print, or choose your browser’s PDF destination to save a copy.

The first box is a model with stroke numbers. The next two boxes are light tracing copies; the remaining boxes are for independent writing. Choose “Write from memory” to replace the tracing copies with empty boxes.

Keep the workload small

Each worksheet displays up to 40 characters. If your sentence is longer, the page explains the limit. Split a longer passage into a few short practice sessions instead of printing a large stack at once.

Spaces and punctuation do not get handwriting rows. A character without stroke data is listed in a message rather than silently replaced with a different glyph. The full sentence stays visible at the top for context.

For a study group or a class

Use Share practice to give the exercise a name and copy a link. The link contains the sentence and voice speed. Students can open the same exercise and move at their own pace; no account or class roster is required.

A printed QR code leads back to the animation. Share the sheet with your class or study group; learners can scan the code to practice the same sentence on their own device.

Choose what you share

A practice link contains the text you put into it. Check a personal diary entry before sharing it. Do not include a student’s full name or other personal details merely to label a worksheet. A simple title such as “Monday’s practice” is enough.

The worksheet is generated in your browser. It does not upload the sentence to a worksheet service, and there is no payment or sign-up step.
